Looking to become an architect in Israel, really - an architect of Israel.

Here we are on the land, with a historic opportunity - to create buildings, to create homes, which are uniquely suited to the place, attuned to the soul of Israel, custom made for the people who will use them. To build and to be built.  To create a living culture of building and buildings.  To redefine what it means to build.  We have, here in Israel, and opportunity to change the way the world architects and builds buildings.

How do we incorporate all of the lessons of the environment and of green architecture into our mode of building?  How do we move beyond style and build buildings that are beautifully, that are human, that are enduring?  Rome put a stamp on architecture that has lasted for thousands of years, that's the opportunity that we have now - to eschew style and hold close to the values which are built to last. We can architect and build for eternity.

And what is the place of Jerusalem, our holy city?  What is the place of Jerusalem, where our eyes have turned all of this time?  Jerusalem of white stone, and domed ceilings, villas, and shabby apartment blocks.  What gift will we give this city, Jerusalem, what gift will she become to the world?</p>
